Patch Features:
* fixed the disappearing avatar that happened especially when you entered a housing instance. This bug had been in the game since day one, but it's gone now. As always, once I have a repro case, the bug is easy to track and fix.
* adding the sextant tool. This opens up the item instance editor. Clicking on an instance item will allow you to edit it using the editor window. You can move it around, rotate it on all three axis's, make it huge, tiny or just right. Finally, you can move items up or down which means you can make floating items. These tools are actually way better than what I made for myself to create the main world.
* You can go into the item instance editor using the system menu, control-shift-E (you can reconfigure this) or placing a new item. If you close the item instance editor dialog, then you're done.
* adding 29 items you can place in your instances. Just buy one from a vendor for gold, double click on it within your instance, and it's placed. Placing an item will automatically put you in instance item edit mode.
* many of the newly added items are houses, and other neat things. I'll let you explore this yourself. All of these items in this patch are gold based. If something goes wrong, I don't want it to cost you tokens. Once things are solid, I'll start to introduce even cooler token based items.
* many of the future items will be token based. This is to allow Secondhand Lands to generate revenue. You'll be seeing some new items. I'm still going to be introducing a LOT of awesome gold based items. If an item makes your instance interesting to your guests, then it'll most likely be gold based.
* All in all, there's over 500 items to be added, but I'll be introducing them in small chunks for now.
* The item limit for instances is going to be set to 250. These items are separate from your inventory once they are placed.
This is STILL another baby step. The eventual goal is to give you all the tools necessary to make really cool and fun instances. If we find that players start spending the majority of their time in player instances instead of the main world, then we've been successful.
The next patch, assuming we don't have a bug patch, will focus on the Giving Tree. Placing a giving tree in your instance will allow your guests to give you a placable item once a day. Items from the Giving Tree will be exclusive to the tree. This means that you can't buy them with tokens or gold.
Future patches will introduce interactive items that will allow players to harvest resources as well as generate critters that'll be trying to stop you. Also, the pet system is definitely in need of a big upgrade.
